Medical specialists, general practitioners, child health nurses and allied health colleagues can refer a child with diagnosed hearing loss, vision impairment or dual sensory loss.
SSEN: S is guided by the World Health Organisation definitions of hearing loss and vision impairment, additionally holding a holistic view of child development and the functional impact of the disability.

Following your Request for Assistance, SSEN: S will email a reply including a referral form and further details. To progress the referral, the completed referral form and relevant health report/s should then be provided.
As SSEN: S educational programs and services are government funded, they will be provided at no cost to the school, parents, or guardians of eligible students with hearing loss, vision impairment or dual sensory loss.
