The Deaf Education and Vision Education Visiting Teacher Services provide specialist educational support aligned to individual educational need through tiers of service that may involve:
- direct teaching
- consultation (including modelling and provision of recommended educational adjustments)
- professional learning provision
- targeted support.
The Visiting Teacher assists teachers and school communities with developing teaching and learning and environmental adjustments for students with vision impairment, hearing loss or dual sensory loss. In addition, where needed, the Visiting Teacher develops and teaches a tailored teaching and learning program to support development of specific skills as related to specialist curriculum areas from the:
- Expanded Core Curriculum for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Expanded Core Curriculum for Students with Vision Impairment.

As SSEN: S educational programs and services are government funded, they will be provided at no cost to the school, parents, or guardians of eligible students with hearing loss, vision impairment or dual sensory loss.
